  1. Lucy you're right, today people have a different point of view about education, teachers and tools used for teaching, and technology has a big role in this shift. Also, as you said, blended learning is a flexible approach, it can be adaptated depending on the needs of institutions, universities, teachers, students and resources (technological and economic), which is an advantage blended learning has.
I agree with you when you say that blended learning is an innovation because it incorporates the use of technology, allows access to authentic materials, the use of a varied range of strategies and it has in mind the social aspect of learning. Also blended learning allow more access to people to education as it permits flexibility in time. Of course the percentage of online activities can vary according to the needs or goals of the program, course, institute, but I think this is another advantage of blended learning because people can choose the program which fits better with their needs or personal/professional goals.
You had very good comments Lucy!!

  3. To add to Lucelly's fruitful arguments on the advantages and features of blended learning, I would like to highlight more the role that a teacher must play when implementing this kind of learning. Besides following the guidelines and reasons we could see in the article, teachers must be cautious on the suitable blend they want to incorporate. This can be achieved by experiencing and going through trial-and-error processes until the blend is suitable for students. Even if teachers do not think about it, students are the main affected stakeholders if lacks are prominent in the design of a blended course. Therefore, teachers must be informed and principled on how best to provide students with a balance between F2F and online interaction, with constant monitoring, and with a development of students' intercultural competence.

In our context, teachers are required to make sure they have the sufficient time to attend these necessities. It is common to see ourselves working at different places and traveling from one place to another to teach a lesson, depriving us of devoting time to monitor students' work and needs in the online environment. Hence, the call is for us as teachers to start preparing ourselves for these kinds of teaching as it is highly likely that we are assigned to teach a course with these characteristics soon due to the widespread of technology in education in latinamerican settings.

  4. Great review Lucy! You present a good discussion showing engagement with the reading. As Kevin points out a principled approach is central. Teachers must reflect and be informed about the type of modality of blended learning they will implement.

According to the text about blended learning and what Lucelly point of view about this topic. I think that a keyword of this reading is that “blended learning is a flexible approach” It is when the teacher, technology and students have interaction among helping each other. Why do I say this? Because teacher have to know about technology programs to share knowledge with the students online giving them the best material and activities according to the students’ needs, socio-economic condition, and learning capacity. It is the beginning for the students to keep on with the studies in the university or work place. I hope in a future it will be continued spreading to every place in this country taking into account the farthest places around the cities and small towns.
